Chapter 28 Shen Li, you have a sharp eye, you say...
As I stepped out of the dance studio, dusk was falling. On campus, the setting sun cast its golden rays, gilding the girls coming and going with a golden edge.
Those dressed in dance costumes rushed to practice, their figures particularly graceful in the sunset; those strolling in short skirts and hot pants had long legs that shone white in the golden light.
There were also girls who had just come out of the library, carrying books, looking quiet and elegant, but the full curves of their bodies encased in tight T-shirts were still eye-catching.
While enjoying the "scenery," Shen Li stretched her aching shoulders.
My phone rang. I took it out and saw it was a WeChat message from my mom.
"Lili, how have you been lately? Do you have enough money? Mom will transfer you some more?"
Shen Li looked at the message, her heart filled with mixed emotions. She replied, "It's enough, Mom. Don't worry, I found a part-time job and I can earn money now."
After sending the message, he checked his bank account balance. With the money from "Flash Delivery" and the 500 yuan from Director Wang, he'd saved up nearly 1000 yuan recently.
Although we are still far from being "economically independent", at least we don't have to eat only shredded potatoes anymore.
"Alright, I'll add a chicken leg tonight to celebrate surviving the physical education class," he encouraged himself.
Jingyang leaned closer and put his arm around his shoulder: "Particle, what are we having for dinner tonight? It's on me! To celebrate our successful survival of the double hell of vocal and physical education classes!"
"You're treating?" Shen Li asked suspiciously. "You've got money again?"
"My dad just transferred my allowance," Jing Yang said proudly. "Come on, a new Sichuan restaurant opened outside the North Gate. I heard their boiled fish is amazing!"
Shen Li, Yang Yi, and Dai Xiao exchanged a glance and said in unison, "Let's go!"
On the way to the Sichuan restaurant, Shen Li began to plan her next move.
Regarding making money: "Flash Delivery to Campus" continues, and we're keeping in touch with Director Wang to see if there's any more work.
The interview results for the External Relations Department should be out soon. If I get in, it will be another way to make money and build connections.
Academically: I must study my vocal lessons diligently; Teacher Meng has truly excellent teaching skills. I must persevere through my physical training classes; a healthy body is an actor's foundation.
I'll keep working on it in performance class and try to get a high score on my next impromptu skit.
In terms of interpersonal relationships: We need to continue to observe all the fairies and maintain a safe distance.
Be wary of Chu Yao's "friendliness," be cautious of Hao Yan's "methodological" approach, and be wary of the "rewards" from the senior in the bath towel and the senior in the camisole nightgown... well, that's acceptable, but we must stick to our bottom line!
As for Teacher Lu from the Student Affairs Office, Teacher Meng from the Vocal Music Class, and Teacher Du from the Physical Education Class... Shen Li felt that all the teachers at the Beijing Film Academy were "important figures".
He curled his lips into his signature smile, a smile that held a hint of amusement and calculation. "Deep waters mean many devils, but that also means... many opportunities."
Shen Li's stomach growled twice at just the right moment. He quickened his pace, muttering, "Boiled fish, here I come!"
The newly opened Sichuan restaurant outside the North Gate has a very straightforward name... "Spicy to Death, Kid".
The signboard is bright red and can be seen from a great distance, like a fire alarm.
Shen Li stood at the door, glanced up, and clicked her tongue in amazement: "What a name! They're practically begging people to know their chili peppers are free, aren't they?"
Jing Yang took the lead and pushed the door open to go in:
"Stop talking nonsense! I'm starving! That physical education class almost broke my bones, and Mr. Du's hands gave me goosebumps!"
Yang Yi followed behind, adding with a goofy grin, "I think Teacher Du is quite professional. It's just that your walking habit of using the same hand and foot simultaneously definitely needs to be corrected."
"Shut up, you bastard!" Jing Yang snapped angrily.
Dai Xiao pushed up his glasses and said quietly, "According to the principles of human kinesiology, walking with the same hand and foot simultaneously will significantly reduce movement efficiency and increase the risk of tripping. Jing Yang, your situation is commonly known as 'walking with the same leg on the same side'."
Jing Yang: "..."
Shen Li laughed so hard she slapped her thigh: "Walking with the same gait! Hahaha! Young Master Jing, if you, Romeo, were to go to see Juliet with the same gait, wouldn't the young lady think you'd had a stroke?"
"That's enough!" Jing Yang wailed as he found a seat by the window. "Waiter! We want to order!"
The four of them sat down. Shen Li, with her eyes and ears open, instinctively scanned the surroundings as if it were her professional habit.
This shop is decorated in a very interesting way, with the walls covered with slogans in Sichuan dialect, such as "巴适得板" (ba shi de ban), "安逸惨了" (an yi can le), and "雄起" (xiong qi), making it look very lively and interesting.
It was lunchtime, and the restaurant was quite crowded. Shen Li glanced around and, wow, several tables were filled with students from the Beijing Film Academy.
At the table diagonally opposite, there were a few girls sitting there; they looked like they were from the dance department.
They were all wearing tight-fitting training clothes with a casual jacket over them, but their curves were impossible to hide.
One of the girls was facing Shen Li from the side, wearing a loose sweatshirt, but her figure was so good that her chest was so full that it made a huge difference.
He was eating hot and sour noodles with his head down, and the chili oil was stuck to the corner of his mouth. He stuck out his little tongue and licked it off. The sight was...tsk.
Another girl sat there with her back to them, wearing tight jeans. The curve of her buttocks, squeezed by the stool, was round and full, and the jeans were stretched taut, outlining a perfect peach shape.
Jing Yang's eyes were glued to the spot. He lowered his voice and said, "Holy crap, at ten o'clock, those jeans are amazing! That ass, perfect!"
Yang Yi blushed and lowered his head to study the menu.
Dai Xiao said expressionlessly, "Based on my observation, the average hip circumference of female students at Beijing Film Academy is between 88 and 92 centimeters. This sample appears to exceed the average by about 6.8%."
Shen Li was speechless: "Brother Xiao, are your eyes calipers?"
The waiter came over; he was a rather energetic young man. Jing Yang took the menu and began to put his "ordering talent" to use.
"Boiled fish, extra spicy! Spicy chicken, lots of Sichuan peppercorns! Maoxuewang, large portion! Sliced beef and tripe in chili sauce, sliced pork belly with garlic sauce, and Sichuan-style chicken, all of them! Oh, and also Mapo tofu, dry-fried green beans, and hot and sour shredded potatoes, just to cater to those who can't handle spice." He said, glancing at Yang Yi.
Yang Yi was touched: "Jingyang, you still remember that I can't eat spicy food..."
"Don't get me wrong, I'm just worried you won't be able to eat and will go hungry." Jing Yang waved his hand, "Four more bowls of rice, and a case of beer, ice cold!"
Shen Li's eyelids twitched: "Young Master Jing, is this a treat or a banquet? Ordering so much, is your monthly living expenses enough to cover it?"
"Hey, I'm happy today!" Jing Yang said nonchalantly. "I survived the physical education class, shouldn't I celebrate? Besides, my dad just sent me some money, so I don't need it."
Shen Li silently thought to herself: "You say you're not short of money? You'll probably have to borrow money to get by at the end of the month. Last time, you made a fuss about paying me fifty yuan for a clogged toilet."
But he didn't say it aloud. Only a fool would refuse an invitation to dinner.
While waiting for the food, Jingyang started chatting: "Hey, tell me, which of these girls in our class is the best?"
Yang Yi scratched his head: "They all look pretty good."
"Isn't that obvious?!" Jing Yang rolled his eyes. "I asked for the 'best'! Shen Li, you have a sharp eye, you tell me."
