Chapter 50 Blood Oath
Chapter 50 Blood Oath
As for Otto, upon noticing Micah's unusual behavior, he immediately activated his Eye of Light.
In the light of the lamp's spiritual eye, the originally clear liquor was now surrounded by a faint crimson mist.
Clearly, these drinks were poisoned or mixed with some unseen curse.
At that moment, Otto immediately understood what Micah wanted to do.
He simply raised his glass, pretending to drink, and held the liquid in his mouth.
Immediately afterwards, Micah, who had been the first to drink, made an exaggerated gesture.
He stood up, convulsing, and then collapsed to the ground.
Then it was Goren's turn; he yelled and fell backward.
Otto felt a little annoyed; these two were just too eager to perform.
But since his companions had all fallen, Otto couldn't remain silent. He could only helplessly fall to the ground, accidentally knocking over the ale in his glass.
In this way, he could legitimately spit out the wine in his mouth, thus avoiding actually absorbing the toxins.
The servant was stunned by the sight; he hadn't expected that the entire adventurer squad that had been detaining him would be wiped out so easily.
But the bartender had already come over, grabbed the male servant's hand, and was about to lead him towards the back door.
"The money is ready. Let's divide the spoils, go our separate ways, and break this damn blood oath."
At this moment, the male servant was confused. What exactly did the bartender want to do?
But when they arrived at the backyard of the tavern, the bartender tore off a human skin mask from his face.
Beneath the human skin mask was his companion, the thief.
"This is an alchemical tool. Just stick it on your face and you can mimic anyone you want to be."
A few days ago, I killed the bartender, incorporated his face into this alchemical artifact, and then hid in this tavern.
Those idiots would never guess that the bartender had been replaced.
As the thief spoke, he dug up the wax seal and the precious blanket that he had buried in the backyard.
"Let's do as we agreed before. I'll take more money, and you can have these two things."
The thief was very shrewd. Just as Micah had guessed, these two items were too hot to handle and could not possibly be traded through normal channels.
The thief didn't intend to destroy them directly, but instead used the two items to exchange for more money with the male servant.
Although the servant was greedy, he was completely ignorant of the rules of the trade, and the thief had no interest in teaching him.
Anyway, after the money was divided and the blood oath was broken, the two went their separate ways. What did the life or death of the male servant have to do with him?
But just as the thief picked up the item and turned around, he was enveloped by a tall, dark shadow.
"You, how did you wake up?"
The thief felt nothing but immense fear.
Standing in front of him was Goren.
But Goren didn't waste any words and directly raised his hand and smashed it onto the thief's ears.
Crimson blood spurted out, but instantly froze into blood-red ice flowers.
At that moment, illuminated by the pale moon, the thief finally saw the man's hands clearly.
Those hands were covered in a metallic sheen and emanated a chilling aura, appearing to be formed from some kind of ice and snow.
The thief wanted to escape immediately, but was firmly stopped.
The male servant had been knocked to the ground, while the wax seal and the expensive blanket were being held by another person.
"Are you all alright?"
The thief finally understood that the three men's goal was the stolen goods.
The thief initially thought that the three men had brought the male servant over to lure him into a trap.
The thieves had anticipated this possibility, which is why they lay in ambush in the tavern, planning to run away with the money if anything went wrong.
Once the blood oath is broken, who can do anything to him?
But who could have imagined that these adventurers not only anticipated this, but even pretended to be caught in the trap and let themselves play along until they took out both items, at which point their true nature was revealed.
"Damn it!"
The thief felt he had been tricked.
Stealing the governor's sealing wax seal, even if you don't die, you'll probably be sent to some inhumane labor camp and never get out.
But just as the thief was pondering this, an unexpected event occurred.
Micah raised his giant axe and immediately beheaded the man.
This scene left the thief feeling utterly bewildered.
"What exactly are you planning to do?"
The thieves couldn't understand why the adventurer in front of them was being so aggressive, since they hadn't offended him.
But his question was met with a cold look from Micah.
Micah simply told Goren to put the human skin mask away, and then he stared intently at the thief.
As time went by, the commotion in the tavern gradually made the surrounding area noisy again.
Micah only let Goren carry the thief; they were going to move on to another location.
The bewildered thief had no idea what they were planning to do and only felt that he had been played.
He shouted and yelled all the way, hoping to attract attention, but Goren only thought he was too noisy and froze his tongue completely, with the necrotic part reaching the root of his tongue, which made it impossible for the thief to utter another word.
"We just need you to live to see tomorrow; the form doesn't matter."
Looking at the agitated Goren, Otto also had some doubts.
Logically speaking, the task has been completed, and there is no need to do anything further.
Moreover, Goren and Micah don't seem like bloodthirsty villains, so there's no need to torture them.
Just as Otto was wondering, Micah explained it to him.
"Are you wondering what we're going to use him for?"
Upon hearing this, Otto simply nodded.
But Micah didn't answer him directly; instead, he reminded Otto of something.
Do you still remember the blood oath?
Upon hearing this, Otto wanted to say something more, but he immediately understood.
"It is the fire of the abyss."
Upon hearing this answer, Micah nodded.
"Young man, you've finally figured it out."
Micah looked coldly at the thief and spoke slowly.
"Although the male servant used despicable methods, he did not kill anyone."
I gave him a quick death.
Anyway, he was going to be sent to a labor camp and suffer torture that was worse than death, so this kind of death was a relief for him.
But you're different. You probably have more than just that bartender's life on your hands, right?
"Perfect, I'll use you to collect some Abyssal Fire."
This is Micah's plan.
It can shatter blood oaths, thereby drawing upon the fires of the abyss.
Although the Abyss Fire is extremely negative, it is perfectly acceptable as an option.
More than the villains before him, Micah hoped to help his juniors.
Looking at everything that was happening before his eyes, Otto felt that Lillian was right.
Micah is indeed a great helper.
Just as Otto was pondering this, the white dog became somewhat excited!
The white dog has found its opportunity for transformation!
