Chapter 21 Twice TV3
Chapter 21 Twice TV3
"Didn't I tell you yesterday?" Xie Mingmu started the engine and drove the car out of the parking lot. "I'm a photographer's assistant at JYP Entertainment now, shooting their group variety shows and stuff."
Xie Mingmu certainly wouldn't tell Park Jiyeon his true profession—paparazzi—after all, he still had some sense of shame.
"I didn't expect you to know how to film. Didn't you study law in college?" Park Jiyeon looked at Xie Mingmu with some doubt. "Isn't college four years? How did you graduate so quickly?"
Xie Mingmu rolled his eyes: "I already texted you before, didn't I tell you the reason? It's mainly because I'm too smart, so I graduated early."
"Oh, oh," Park Jiyeon yawned, "Are you any good at this? Don't bump into someone." Park Jiyeon quickly changed the subject. She admitted that she sometimes didn't check her text messages much and sometimes even forgot the relevant information.
"Come on, I'm the racing god of East Osaka PA!" Xie Mingmu wasn't bragging, but he wasn't speeding at the moment.
The car drove into a relatively prosperous commercial area with many vendors. Even late at night, the stalls mainly sold snacks. The people of the peninsula are known as the new generation who don't need sleep, and although it was late, the area was bustling with people.
Rolling down the car window and smelling the aroma around her, Park Jiyeon usually doesn't eat spicy rice cakes at night, but she decided to make an exception today as a treat for Xie Mingmu, who had come all the way to see her. This was definitely not because she was craving something.
"I want to eat spicy stir-fried rice cakes."
Xie Mingmu nodded: "I'd like to too."
Seeing that Xie Mingmu only nodded and did not take any action, Park Jiyeon urged, "Then hurry up and go down to buy it. Do you want me to go? I am Park Jiyeon. I will be photographed as soon as I get out of the car. The next day..." Park Jiyeon paused for a moment, "It won't even be the next day. Within half an hour, there will be rumors. Rumors such as Park Jiyeon meeting her boyfriend late at night will be flying everywhere."
Seeing that Xie Mingmu remained unmoved, Park Jiyeon decided to escalate the situation: "I don't care, I'm used to being criticized anyway, but you'll be in trouble from now on. If you don't want to live a life where people point fingers at you, go buy some rice cakes."
"Sure, if you call me 'Oppa,' I'll go buy it for you."
Although Xie Mingmu's mental age was much older than his physical age, he still had some mischievous ideas, and he thought of playing a little trick on Park Jiyeon.
Hearing this, Park Jiyeon blushed a little. In the Korean Peninsula, it doesn't carry a special meaning for younger men to not get angry. However, Xie Mingmu didn't know the intricacies of it and just wanted to tease Park Jiyeon.
"No way! Luckily I have sunglasses and a mask with me." Park Jiyeon gave up decisively. Calling a younger man "oppa" was too embarrassing. It was even harder for her than to act cute. She might as well let him perform breaking a wooden board.
Xie Mingmu released the steering wheel, glanced at Park Jiyeon's back, and squinted slightly.
"I bought it." Seeing Xie Mingmu with his eyes closed, Park Jiyeon first waved her hand in front of his eyes, then suddenly remembered something and shouted into his ear.
"Why are you yelling so loudly?" Xie Mingmu patted his ears to make sure he could still hear. "Can't you be a little gentler, a little more ladylike? You should learn more from your unnies."
Seeing Xie Mingmu's somewhat exasperated expression, Park Jiyeon happily ate her rice cake. After a few bites, she handed the rest to Xie Mingmu: "Eat this."
Xie Mingmu looked at Park Jiyeon with disgust. "There's your saliva on this. How am I supposed to eat it?"
"Ah!" Park Jiyeon's fist hardened.
"No problem, a little dirt won't hurt you." Xie Mingmu quickly took the rice cake and started eating it in big bites. He knew that too much of a good thing could be bad. He had already amused Park Jiyeon enough today. If he continued, Park Jiyeon would turn into a little dinosaur and breathe fire from her mouth. At that time, Xie Mingmu was afraid that there would be no ashes left.
While eating, Xie Mingmu kept glancing at Park Jiyeon's expression out of the corner of his eye. She still seemed angry. Suddenly, an idea struck him. He picked up a piece of rice cake with his chopsticks and stuffed it directly into Park Jiyeon's mouth: "Don't worry, noona is the type who can eat anything and not gain weight. Eating a little bit of rice cake won't have any effect at all."
Hearing Xie Mingmu call her "Noona," Park Jiyeon's lips curled up, and she felt extremely relieved.
Having finished feeding Xie Mingmu, Park Jiyeon had achieved her goal of tormenting him. With a wave of her hand, she declared, "Let's go home!"
Xie Mingmu understood what she meant; he just wanted to drive her back to her dorm. "I'm speechless. I ran out in the middle of the night just to have some rice cakes with you," Xie Mingmu muttered under his breath.
Park Jiyeon heard Xie Mingmu's quiet complaint and seemed to have a change of heart: "What you said does make some sense. Would you feel better if I apologized?"
Xie Mingmu turned to look at Park Jiyeon, and asked listlessly, "Have you accepted any endorsement offers from game companies recently?" Xie Mingmu didn't know why Park Jiyeon said that, as it sounded exactly like a line from a certain game character!
Seeing Xie Mingmu repeatedly fail, Park Jiyeon shook off her fatigue of the past few days and happily shouted, "Okay, let me take you home first, and I'll go back to my dorm later."
"Aren't you the only one who's scared?"
"What's there to be afraid of? There are so many streetlights. Besides, I can call the police if I'm in danger. There are so many people on the street, I can just shout for help."
Hearing this, Xie Mingmu's face darkened again. He had been fooled by this little devil again. It turned out that her fear of the dark was a lie.
Xie Mingmu got out of the car, and Park Jiyeon waved vigorously at him: "Dongxin, sweet dreams~~"
Without turning back, he simply waved and went straight back into the house, falling asleep immediately. Insomnia? He was just not tired enough.
Today's work is to officially film Twice's variety show. According to the filming plan, today's filming will mainly be done in the car, so time is very tight and their schedule is very full.
The filming of "Cheer Up" involves rehearsals and pre-recordings on various broadcasting stations, as well as shooting for numerous radio and media photo shoots. The filming locations are mainly concentrated on Jeju Island, which will require a lot of travel.
Xie Mingmu was arranged to wait for them at the SBS building. After they finished recording the program and changed into their school uniforms, they got into the car and continued working.
This shoot was relatively simple; we just needed to mount the camera inside the car.
Meanwhile, in Twice's van, Mina seemed lost in thought, when Chaeyoung leaned over and asked, "Unnie, what are you thinking about?"
"I just wanted to rest a bit before filming," Mina said with a gentle smile, touching her head.
Actually, she was wondering if Xie Mingmu had come to film a variety show again today. She was a little worried that her makeup might be a bit messy and that she might look a little unwell because she was tired.
