Chapter 15 Returning to My Homeland
Chapter 15 Returning to My Homeland
The next day, Zhou Wenzhe boarded a flight to Seoul, South Korea. Two hours later, the plane landed at Incheon International Airport.
It's strange, really. In the more than ten years since he got this mission system, he hasn't taken on any missions from South Korea. He's been to neighboring China and Japan several times, and even visited that mysterious country above South Korea once.
Today marks his first return to South Korea in over a decade since he fell ill.
After arriving in downtown Seoul by taxi, he looked out the window and compared it with the scene in his memory. It seemed that not much had changed, and some buildings were still the same as he remembered.
After arriving at the hotel and putting down his luggage, he went out.
As I strolled along the roadside, taking in my surroundings, I unknowingly arrived at Myeongdong, Seoul's famous shopping district.
It's very close to his childhood home, about a ten-minute walk away.
After filling his stomach at a Korean restaurant, he headed towards the place where he had lived as a child.
He arrived at his destination shortly afterward.
To his surprise, the place had changed dramatically. The neighborhood where he used to live had become a high-end community, and the original 5- or 6-story residential buildings had become high-end apartments with more than 20 floors.
He had originally planned to buy back his old house before he came, but now it seems that's not going to happen.
However, I can't buy back the old house, but I can buy a new apartment here now. Maybe I'll come back often in the future, and I can't stay in a hotel every time I come back.
Zhou Wenzhe contacted the property management of the community and inquired about the matter.
To save costs, after new houses are built in South Korea, real estate companies usually entrust property management companies or real estate agencies to sell them on their behalf.
Of course, some real estate companies also sell directly themselves, but this is usually done by large real estate companies.
Upon inquiry, it was discovered that these apartment buildings were only launched at the beginning of this year, and although six months have passed, there are still many vacant units available for sale.
After all, the housing prices here are quite high.
Seeing that Zhou Wenzhe was interested in buying a house, the property manager immediately sent a female staff member surnamed Jin to greet him.
"Mr. Zhou, please have a seat. I'll go get the documents. Please wait a moment." After pouring Zhou Wenzhe a cup of coffee, Ms. Jin went to get the floor plan.
Zhou Wenzhe held his cup, looking at the community building map and various property services displayed on the wall.
In addition to its own gym and swimming pool, this community also offers 24-hour concierge service, providing services such as room cleaning and food delivery.
It seems there really is a reason why things are expensive.
A short while later, Ms. Jin returned with a stack of documents, placed them on the table, and said, "Mr. Zhou, these are some of the more popular apartment layouts in our community. Please take a look."
"Thank you for your help." Zhou Wenzhe picked up a few documents and started looking at them. The smallest of these apartment types was 105 square meters, and the largest was 395 square meters, occupying an entire floor, and also included a rooftop garden of more than 200 square meters.
After much deliberation, he chose the one with the largest area.
"Miss Jin, would you like to take me to see this set?"
"Okay, please follow me."
Ms. Jin was delighted to see that Zhou Wenzhe had chosen the largest apartment; if this apartment sold, her commission would be substantial.
I don't know if this young man has the financial means, but judging from his appearance and manner of speaking, he must be a wealthy man.
Ms. Jin led Zhou Wenzhe to the tallest apartment building, opened the door with her access card, and then swiped her card again to go upstairs in the elevator.
"Mr. Zhou, we have adopted a closed management system here, and the confidentiality is very strict."
"Hmm." Zhou Wenzhe nodded. If they can't even do this much, what kind of luxury apartment is this?
"Because of this, quite a few celebrities have bought apartments here."
"Oh? Is that so? Who are they?" Zhou Wenzhe became a little interested upon hearing this.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Zhou, I can't say that."
Ms. Jin mentioned that celebrities had bought houses here in order to improve the quality of the community, but she absolutely could not reveal the celebrities' specific names, as it was written in the confidentiality agreement, and she did not want to lose her job because of it.
Zhou Wenzhe smiled. He was just asking out of curiosity; he didn't care at all whether any celebrities lived here.
Soon, the elevator arrived at the top floor.
Upon exiting, there is an elevator lobby with an area of over 50 square meters. Since there is only one unit on this floor, this 50 square meters belongs to the owner of this apartment.
Miss Jin used her key to open the door and led Zhou Wenzhe inside.
This apartment is fully furnished with all the necessary furniture, appliances, bathroom fixtures, and other amenities. You can move in after buying just a few basic necessities and bedding.
"You can even see the Han River from here." Zhou Wenzhe walked to the huge floor-to-ceiling window and gazed at the Han River in the distance. This place is close to Namsan Mountain and more than ten kilometers away from the Han River, so it's not easy to see it. Although you can't see the whole view, it can still be considered a river view room to some extent.
"Yes, there are only a few apartments in our entire community that can see the Han River, and this apartment has the best view."
Afterwards, Zhou Wenzhe visited each of the rooms.
There are a total of 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and shower. The master and secondary bedrooms each have a large enclosed balcony. There is also a study, a media room, a maid's room, a laundry room, a storage room, and a shared bathroom.
Such a big house is a waste for one person to live in, and it's also a lot of trouble to clean.
But Zhou Wenzhe didn't care about any of that; all he needed to do to clean the room was expend energy.
He was quite satisfied with the apartment and decided to buy it immediately.
"Ms. Jin, I'm buying this apartment. Let's go complete the formalities."
"ah?!"
Ms. Kim was clearly taken aback. A house worth billions of won, bought so easily? How come it felt as easy as buying something worth a few hundred thousand won?
"What? Has this apartment already been reserved?"
"No, no, let's go and complete the formalities."
Ms. Jin quickly shook her head. Although this apartment was one of the best in the entire community, it was also very expensive. Other apartments of similar quality had not yet been sold.
"Oh, and I'll buy two more parking spaces while I'm at it."
"Mr. Zhou, I forgot to tell you earlier that this apartment comes with two free parking spaces."
"Oh, okay, then I'll buy another one, the ones that are connected together."
"Okay, no problem."
Miss Jin gave a fawning smile. This was a big client; she had to serve him well, in case he wanted to buy other houses in the future.
The purchase procedures were completed quickly, and Zhou Wenzhe paid in full in cash without hesitation.
Such financial resources are truly impressive, considering that many celebrities who buy houses here still need to take out loans.
The moment Zhou Wenzhe received the purchase contract, he could have moved in. However, the property still needed to be registered, which would take a few days to process.
Now that we've bought the house, the next step is getting a means of transportation. We can't rely solely on our two legs to find people.
On the recommendation of the property manager, Zhou Wenzhe came to a large car mall, which sells cars of various luxury brands. In addition to ordinary luxury brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Porsche, there are also ultra-luxury brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce.
It has everything you could want.
Zhou Wenzhe was not ostentatious; he only bought a brand-new Mercedes-Benz G63. Although the car was quite expensive, it was honestly not particularly eye-catching in Seoul, a city in South Korea where most of the wealthy people live.
Payment and car pickup were completed in one smooth motion.
As for his driver's license, Zhou Wenzhe has an international driver's license recognized by South Korea, so he can drive directly on the road, but he needs to exchange it for a South Korean driver's license within a week.
Now that everything is settled, the next step is to start looking for people.
But in this vast sea of people, where can one find them?
. . . . .
