Chapter 27 Is something good about to happen?
Since obtaining Kim Tae-yeon's new contact information that day, Kang Woo-jin has let go of the worries of the past two years and has kept his old phone.
Looking at the replies he received on his new phone every day, his mood improved day by day, especially since the little one had taken the initiative to suggest that next weekend was a rest day and they would have two days off.
It's the end of the year and the first day of the new year, a rare holiday for these trainees.
She wanted to treat Kang Woo-jin to a meal that day to thank him for treating them to afternoon tea earlier.
Kang Woo-jin didn't think it was a big deal, but he couldn't let Kim Tae-yeon treat him to a meal; it was better for him to pay.
The two argued on the phone for a while, and in the end, Kang Woo-jin made a request: to ask Kim Tae-yeon to help him go over the lines in the script.
As someone who studied abroad, his accent was somewhat different, and some of his pronunciations sounded awkward.
I figured I was just doing him a favor, so when we went out to eat that day, he paid the bill.
Kim Tae-yeon couldn't argue with him, and after hearing Kang Woo-jin say that it was very important to be serious about lines, she agreed.
Upon receiving this message, Jiang Youzhen was so happy that he couldn't sleep all night, and he was still able to appear on set full of energy the next day.
This positive mood improved his performance on set, and his unusual appearance surprised director Huang Renlei, but he was mostly pleased.
Could it be that this kid has finally figured it out?
Outside of filming, Kang Woo-jin was extremely aloof on set. Even if someone tried to disturb him, he would politely make an excuse and run away immediately.
It's fair to say that social interaction has been completely forgotten. However, things have improved a lot in the last few days, and in my spare time I even greet my colleagues and staff.
I don't know what good thing happened to him, but as a director, Hwang In-rae is very happy that Kang Woo-jin has made this change.
Jiang Jingshu had visited the film set several times and had seen that Jiang Youzhen was serious about filming, and that his words and actions on set these past few days had indeed changed quite a bit from before.
But she wasn't entirely against it; she simply saw it as a sign that her son's shy and withdrawn personality had improved.
Just as Jiang Jingshu was about to go back, she caught a glimpse of several female production assistants walking towards Jiang Youzhen, carrying various coffees and snacks in their hands.
The next second, she saw her son running away as if he were fleeing a flood, a forced smile on his face as he took his script and laptop and walked away.
...
Nothing has changed.
Or has something really good happened to this child recently?
These past few days, Jiang Jingshu has been busy with year-end award ceremonies and invitations to TV station year-end ceremonies. In order to increase the hype, she even brought Mads-Oh along, so she didn't pay much attention to Jiang Youzhen.
The TV broadcast was scheduled for mid-January, but a lot of filming had already taken place before the New Year. Director Hwang In-rae was getting anxious, and Kang Jung-seo was also urging them on, so Kang Woo-jin's scenes were constantly being filmed.
Huang Renlei knew that this was in line with Jiang Youzhen's schedule, and it was just a holiday, so there wouldn't be much filming. Therefore, he could only rush to film every day, which also kept the other actors in the crew very busy.
To avoid those people, Jiang Youzhen told the assistant director and ran to Jiang Jingshu's usual dressing room. Not long after, he received a text message from Jiang Jingshu.
The content is not short. The lease on the house where her studio was originally located was expiring, and she planned to find a larger place. She chose to rent instead of buy, but Mads Wu felt that buying directly was more appropriate.
Their family business is thriving, and they are financially well-off, so buying it directly wouldn't be a problem at all.
For the sake of consideration, Jiang Jingshu sent several addresses to Jiang Youzhen, asking him to give her his opinion on which location was the best.
Jiang Youzhen could tell from the contents that his parents couldn't come up with a solution and had passed the problem on to him.
The addresses mentioned in the text message were all in downtown Seoul, almost all in the Gangnam area. He looked at them carefully, comparing them one by one with the map and the surrounding business conditions.
However, when he saw the last two addresses, he was slightly stunned. After checking the road information on his laptop, he chose one of them to reply to Jiang Jingshu without hesitation.
One of these two addresses is right across from the SM building, and it's conveniently located with easy access.
Jiang Youzhen swore that he had absolutely no ulterior motives; he simply thought the building at this address was spacious and convenient for him to move around, and it even had a parking lot, which was very convenient.
Jiang Jingshu didn't reply after that. It wasn't until evening that the assistant director of the crew rushed over and knocked on the door.
Kang Woo-jin thought he was coming to remind him to go to the film set to shoot, and thought to himself that Joo Ji-hoon was really fast at filming now. Even without a single NG, his speed was highly efficient.
But when he was ready to go out, he saw the entire crew gathered around a television set.
...
So, it wasn't filming?
"Kang Woo-jin, today is the acting awards ceremony, and the writer will be attending," the assistant director whispered, noticing the slight confusion on Kang Woo-jin's face.
"Acting Awards? Today?"
The somewhat unfamiliar term left Jiang Youzhen bewildered, but he seemed to remember something and quickly stood beside the crowd to look at it.
Actors usually attend the acting awards ceremony, while directors and screenwriters are more low-key. However, those who win awards will be invited by the TV station.
Jiang Jingshu didn't want to go, but the TV station met her requirements in terms of social etiquette, and her script this year had indeed won an award, so she agreed to attend.
Having watched many award ceremonies abroad, I'd like to see more domestic award ceremonies, especially those featuring popular idol groups. However, since Kang Woo-jin has been away from the country for so long, he doesn't recognize many of the artists.
Jiang Youzhen watched the first half of the show out of boredom, but when he finally saw Jiang Jingshu on stage in the second half, he barely managed to muster the energy to continue watching.
Jiang Jingshu went there this time, received an award and presented an award, going up on stage only twice. While sitting in the audience, she wasn't bored, and people around her chatted with her.
After the camera moved away, Kang Woo-jin went back home. He had absolutely no interest in any of these awards or ceremonies.
Instead of wasting time looking at this, you should put more effort into your new script.
A short while later, the assistant director came over again, but this time he brought good news.
The crew will be on break starting tomorrow, but only for three days, around New Year's Eve.
This means he can go home tonight. Kang Woo-jin's scenes originally scheduled for tonight have been postponed until after the holiday.
This made Jiang Youzhen a little uncomfortable. If he was supposed to have a holiday, why did they make him wait on the set for so long?
