Chapter 904 - 263: One Punch (Part 2)
Chen Ming just couldn’t figure it out and pondered for a little while,
but soon his attention was drawn away by the hundred or so deformed stomach monsters he encountered along the way.
Amidst the massacre of these twisted creatures, he arrived at a fork in the road of the only path to the experimental center.
A road sign hung overhead here.
Though covered by spreading flesh, he could barely make out the words beneath.
One side led to the residential area, while the other was the true experimental zone.
Chen Ming didn’t even hesitate and walked straight toward the experimental zone; he could visit the other side on his way back, so there was no hurry.
This part of the road didn’t have as much going on as before; all the deformed stomach monsters had disappeared, and not a single one came to hinder his actions.
It was as if the source of the dimensional infection had given up on targeting him.
Chen Ming smoothly reached the experimental zone.
And to his surprise, he directly saw the core of the dimensional infection.
It was a gigantic cage made of three layers of different composite materials.
The innermost layer was made of Ice Steel, a material considered medium to high strength even among special levels.
The middle layer’s gaps were filled with a thin layer of molten Silent Alloy.
The outer layer used a Spiritual Energy Fluctuation containment material, which Chen Ming had learned about.
The characteristic of these three materials was that they all appeared transparent, allowing for a clear view of the inside of the cage.
But now, there’s no need to see inside clearly.
Because this cage is already damaged.
On one side of the cage, there was a minute damage in the structure, and the molten Silent Alloy had flowed out, cooling on the ground to form a metal plate devoid of flesh coverage.
All the deformed flesh caused by the dimensional infection inside had squeezed out through this breach, devouring most of the cage into its completely unleashed abnormal stomach.
The entire cage seemed like a dinner plate for this massive tumorous stomach.
At the top side of the gigantic deformed stomach in the center of the experimental zone, nearly a hundred esophagus-like fleshy tissues extended along the ceiling.
These stretched out to those already completely eroded by the dimensional infection all around, having completely lost human form, leaving only a massive lump of flesh offering nutrients to the top tumor-like Zuo Jing’s molecule and the researchers, extracting nutrition from them.
It wasn’t hard to see from the positions of these flesh and lump-like structures that these people were almost simultaneously and unexpectedly infected without any sign or precaution.
They died immediately, becoming victims of the dimensional infection.
To be honest, Chen Ming simply couldn’t understand.
Outside, each irregular compartment was heavily protected, so why wasn’t the inside protected?
Earlier, he had wondered why Zuo Jing managed the dimensional infection for so long without issues; now it seemed like it was purely good luck that they just scraped through the last few days.
The result was a slight lapse, and they all perished.
Forget it, whatever.
He wasn’t here to do anything for Zuo Jing; his goal was simply to destroy the source of the dimensional infection.
Chen Ming raised his right hand, with magnificent plasma swirling in his palm.
The deformed stomach seemed to sense a threat and writhed incessantly.
The surrounding tumors gradually began to shrivel, and from the remnants of the esophagus at the top of the central deformed stomach, it seemed something was about to be spewed out.
Chen Ming’s movements suddenly slowed down.
Because this deformed stomach was different from the deformed heart he had encountered before.
The deformed heart had already developed self-consciousness and the ability to communicate.
But Chen Ming had no intention of communicating with the deformed heart back then and killed it directly.
Today’s deformed stomach seemed unable to communicate and possessed only a basic survival instinct.
So practically, this deformed stomach should be less developed and therefore weaker than the deformed heart.
Chen Ming suddenly ceased to continue accumulating plasma, even extinguishing the plasma he had already gathered.
He focused his gaze on the massive tumorous stomach.
He bent slightly, leaning forward, taking on a position ideal for exerting force.
All the muscles in his body were taut, accumulating power drawn from his flesh and the Spiritual Energy of the Insect Queen.
The sonic boom resonated with heavy echoes throughout the experimental zone.
Chen Ming’s body, under the terrifying explosive force, broke the sound barrier.
The air around him condensed into droplets due to his high-speed movement, forming a man-sized conical sonic boom cloud behind him.
He swung his iron fist with all his might, striking the very center of the gigantic deformed stomach.
Under the tremendous force, the deformed stomach shattered, and Chen Ming’s entire body passed right through it, leaving a man-sized hole in the stomach’s central mass.
However, the damage Chen Ming caused was far more than what appeared.
From the point of his punch, the size of the opening continued to expand.
All the flesh of the deformed stomach lost its vitality under the tear of that force and its aftermath.
Only a few chunks of flesh barely maintained its shape, desperately drawing nutrition stored in the surrounding tumors, trying to recover from the damage caused by Chen Ming’s punch.
However, its flesh had been killed by the punch, and all the nutrition seemed to be feeding a corpse dying of starvation, achieving nothing.
