Chapter 256: Allison Confesses!
Chapter 256: Allison Confesses!
It was time for Jason to meet up with Allison, Jason now knew that Allison had a direct hand in what had transpired a couple of months back.
Jason didn’t know who Allison was, there was no way that she could be this evil.
Jason knew that she was a threat he had to take care of or she could potentially put the entire community at risk.
He went unarmed because something told him that Allison wouldn’t be alone but she had no reason to suspect him of anything.
He wasn’t sure she was alone and assumed that she would come with one or two of her guards to frisk him.
Jason was prepared and the last thing he needed was to have her on guard, he had Chronos and if he needed to, he could fight his way out of the situation.
He had his system after all even though the system was slowly losing its function as one due to Jason slowly gaining full control over it hence bypassing the mechanics put in place.
He went to see Allison and it was just as he expected, the area was deserted and there was not a single person in sight.
If Allison wanted to get rid of him, this would be the perfect place to do it but there was no way his disappearance wouldn’t go unnoticed.
He had become quite the important figure in this community and this would leave questions to be answered but what if Allison frames him?
What if she played another trick that pointed all fingers at him, there was no way that Jason would be able to defend himself if the evidence says otherwise.
"You came," A voice said behind him, Jason didn’t even pick up her presence which showed just how skilled Allison was.
"Of course I did," Jason responded, turning to face her but to his surprise, she was alone.
"Thank you for coming Jason, it really means a lot," Allison said, the relief in her voice clear.
She walked past him, grabbing his hand in the process as she dragged him into one of the buildings.
Jason noticed that there was no one in these buildings but he was also wondering why she had access to them.
The place was dusty and there wasn’t a single piece of furniture in place, the walls were cracked and the ceilings were filled with mould.
This wasn’t a safe place to be but it shouldn’t hurt to stay here for the duration of this discussion.
"What is wrong?" Jason asked because it looked like Allison was hiding from someone.
Of course, this could very well be an act meant to produce this very reaction.
Jason was wary and knew that Allison was incredibly manipulative but he was willing to give her a listening ear.
"Nothing, I do not want anyone to see us in public," Allison said; this was a strange thing to say but Jason kept his mouth shut.
"Jason, everything you have heard, it is true," Allison began but Jason didn’t care much about this. He wanted the details.
"The Specters sent me here to scout the area and see how strong the community was, they wanted to know everything about it," Allison began.
"Our leader saw his chance when you arrived, he knew you were the kind of person to give anyone a second chance at life when you returned to save Bella so he sent me here, using you people as cover," Allison stated.
Jason was surprised that she was being honest but she must have her back against the wall if she was coming out this way.
He knew there had to be an ulterior motive considering she had lied to him for so long.
"So what? You people plan to take over the community, is that it? Bring your band of criminals here and turn this place into a lawless haven?" Jason questioned.
"Take over? Jason... You misunderstand," Allison said but Jason was sure he had an idea of what was going on.
"What do you mean I’m wrong? You killed Franklin, didn’t you?" Jason said with a sigh.
Allison’s eyes shot open, clearly surprised by this information.
"What?" Allison blurted out.
"You killed Franklin, wrote the list of his so-called conspirators and had us do your dirty work..." Jason said.
"You have no idea what is going on, do you?" Allison said; she thought that Jason would have caught on but it appeared that he was in the dark.
"Explain it to me, that is why I am here," Jason was calm, offering her a listening ear.
"Mariam knew who I was," Allison began.
"Huh? If she knew, she wouldn’t have let you in," Jason responded.
"But she did..." Allison said, throwing Jason’s thought process into disarray.
"I wasn’t sent to take over the community for the Specters, Mariam is the one that requested my presence to get rid of the people that threatened her rule," Allison confessed.
"Mariam is the one responsible for all of this, she is the one that poisoned her husband, she was the only person with access to his medicine," Allison said sternly.
"You don’t expect me to believe it," Jason was exhausted and wondered why Allison brought him out here only to lie to his face.
"I knew you wouldn’t believe me but did you not find it strange that Mariam made someone she knew was a Specter the wall commander? I killed Franklin under her orders and I did forge the suicide letter as well. Franklin wasn’t a bad guy but his loyalty wasn’t to Mariam but her husband. Mariam took out all of his supporters so no one could oppose her when she took the helm. The last name that was scratched out was Mariam’s name," Allison blurted out.
"Why would she write down Mariam’s name?" Jason thought to himself, he knew that Allison might be lying but there was a good chance this was the truth because it added up.
Jason didn’t know that Mariam was aware of her affiliation with the Specters and if it was she said then it meant that Mariam was in contact with the Specters long before he made contact with them.
"I wrote it down because I had a moment of weakness, I wanted it to end but I knew if Mariam was to fall then this community would be thrown into chaos so I crossed it out," Allison confessed.
She had already lied to Jason multiple times so it was hard for him to believe her but the story did connect.
"Do you see it now? I was never the threat, Mariam was,"
