Chapter 33 Space-Based Weapons
Chapter 33 Space-Based Weapons
"Space-based weapons are being deployed."
The teams tasked with launching a strong attack achieved virtually no results, and were even unable to inflict effective damage on the Lava Giant Tree.
Meanwhile, the energy fluctuations in the Earth's core became increasingly intense, and the command center in space began to feel uneasy.
After confirming with the Chengmingxing branch, the operations command immediately activated the command for the space-based weapon deployed in near-Earth orbit of the Golun star.
This space-based weapon, named "Starhammer," was deployed over the planet Golun shortly after the appearance of the Crystal Tomb.
It is the Anomaly Management Bureau's ultimate trump card against the Crystal Tomb, with the aim of at least completely eliminating and nipping it in the bud if the Crystal Tomb reaches an irreversible state.
On the track, the platform's hexagonal gun barrel is being calibrated. Twelve sets of superconducting coils light up one by one with a deep blue glow, and the magnetic field binds the long rod-shaped tungsten alloy projectile.
The coolant hissed inside the pipes, and the ice crystals that condensed on the surface of the projectile sublimated into white mist in the vacuum.
The countdown from the command center was transmitted via laser channel, and the hydraulic jack on the gun barrel base snapped shut with a click.
The giant lava tree seemed to sense the threat. Its upper branches suddenly stopped attacking the fighter jets and blossomed with countless lava buds, spewing out a canopy of sulfurous smoke.
Crystalline rock surfaces condensed within the smoke, reflecting the sky in bizarre and surreal ways. The brightness of the crystals at the tree roots suddenly increased, and a waterfall of lava cascaded down from beneath the canopy, solidifying in mid-air to form a honeycomb-shaped protective dome.
Gray Pivot, located at the core of the lava tree, suddenly looked up, his knuckles turning slightly white as he held the dodecahedral black stone.
The Starhammer fired in complete silence. There was no flash, no explosion, only a cloud of icy dust billowing from the muzzle.
Three 20-meter-long tungsten alloy piles broke free from the magnetic field and began to fall under the pull of Earth's gravity.
With each layer of atmosphere it passed through, the projectile glowed redder due to friction. By the time it reached the lava giant tree, the projectile had transformed into a falling incandescent steel nail, leaving a thin plasma trail behind it.
The first projectile struck the crystal mirror array. Upon impact, the mirrors exploded into a shower of colorful crystals, but their thickness still managed to deflect the projectile's trajectory.
The projectile grazed the treetops and pierced a bottomless black hole in the ground below.
The structure of the second projectile differed from the first. When it was still three kilometers away from the lava giant tree, its twelve tungsten alloy shells bloomed like petals, revealing a central, azure-blue superalloy core.
The core spun rapidly, even distorting space itself. The honeycomb protective layer was twisted into a vortex, and the moment the central channel was torn open, the third projectile pierced through the gap.
The impact is a double blow. The tungsten alloy stake first penetrates the trunk, carving a tunnel with a diameter of thirty meters into the heart of the tree.
After a 0.3-second delay, the liquid helium sealed inside the projectile was released with a roar. The cryogenic shock wave raged in the lava core, and the frozen magma inside the main body emitted a crisp sound like shattering glass.
A thousand-meter-high bulge arched up on the trunk of the giant lava tree, then collapsed into a giant crater. The main root system at the top was blasted into pieces and began to collapse piece by piece. Half of the crown, with burning broken branches, fell and crushed the two crystal mountains below into dust.
Lava spewed from the broken tree trunk, shooting high into the sky before turning into a rain of blood that fell back down. The broken surface twitched as if trying to heal, but the final result was shattering.
"It worked?"
Hu Zhou and the others had already moved out of the area where the lava tree was located to avoid being affected.
Before them, a third of the magnificent tree that had hung upside down in the sky was destroyed and began to fall from the heavens.
When the tree canopy touched the ground, the shockwave swept away all the mech wreckage within a 300-kilometer radius.
As the trunk fell, it continuously disintegrated, with fallen branches piercing the earth like spears of divine punishment. A kilometer-long branch pierced the ground and melted into boiling lava.
The space-based weapon strikes were highly effective, and Hu Zhou, Fu Chen, and the others all breathed a sigh of relief.
But the next second, a sharp explosion came through the communication channel from the command center:
"The energy surge in the core of Golun Star is intensifying! Repeat, the energy surge in the core of Golun Star is intensifying!"
What happened?
What's going on?
Hu Zhou was stunned for a moment.
He clearly saw that as the giant lava tree collapsed and fell, the seven lava waterfalls that formed the ritual also disintegrated.
Logically, the ceremony should have been stopped!
But why did the core of Golun not calm down, but instead intensify the eruption process?
Beside the core of the lava tree, Graysha gently stroked the black stone sphere in his hand.
"Do you think I don't know you possess such deadly space-based weapons?"
He had a smile on his face, but no one could see his expression at that moment.
"A bunch of fools. The final step of my plan requires your space-based weapons to complete."
Beside him, the giant lava tree formed from the Crystal Tomb had begun to disintegrate. But upon closer inspection, one could see that these fragments were not still, but rather seeping into the ground in a liquid form.
"You think I've been working on this for thousands of years to obtain the Crystal Tomb, but in reality, the Crystal Tomb is also part of this ritual."
"When this anomaly is completely destroyed by your Anomaly Management Bureau, it will become the last kindling in my ritual."
"Ready to watch the fireworks?"
Gray's excited mutterings echoed through the ruins.
-----------------
"No! The energy fluctuations in the core of Golun Star are rapidly increasing! How could this be!"
Terrified voices echoed from the operations command center.
At this very moment, their monitoring instruments indicate that the Earth's core is rapidly entering a state of frenzy.
"At this rate, the power of the planetary explosion will be at least five times greater than initially predicted!"
"The Earth's core will explode within ten minutes! It is estimated that five planets will be engulfed by the cosmic storm!"
"Contact the precinct as soon as possible to arrange evacuation!"
"It's too late, it's too late... It's too fast..."
Amidst the spreading panic, despair gradually appeared in everyone's eyes.
The Earth's core was activated at an alarming rate, and the command center, the five planets, and all personnel on Golun Star would be reduced to ashes in the explosion.
In the command center, Wen Mu sighed, slowly sat down, and lowered his head in silence.
Cui Tang shook his head with a bitter smile:
"Grey Harbor channeled the energy released from the disintegration of the Lava Tree underground; he deliberately led us to use space-based weapons to destroy the Crystal Tomb."

Help me!
Help me!
Inside the spaceship, the voice in Cheng Xu's mind had overwhelmed all his senses.
He had to cover his head and curl up into a ball to barely alleviate the pain of being completely overwhelmed.
"Doctor! Doctor!"
Seeing that things were going badly, Fields, who was standing next to Cheng Xu, shouted and rushed out to find someone.
Suddenly, Cheng Xu looked up sharply, his gaze seemingly piercing through the spaceship's internal structure and shooting into space.
"Who are you?!"
