Chapter 12 Traitor
Chapter 12 Traitor
"You mean... you summoned a god on the other side right when I was corrupted?" After Fang Qi finished explaining to Su Jue, he was told another terrifying thing.
"Do you know how you got to the cemetery?" Su Jue had a ball of flame burning in his hand. He sat next to a tombstone, tossed the flame up, caught it again a moment later, and repeated this over and over.
"I don't know. My last memory is around 9:30. I was watching a video, but... I suddenly lost consciousness." Fang Qi and Su Jue were sitting opposite each other. He had basically given up resisting. Even if he ran, it would be useless. He was no match for Su Jue.
"No, if a god intervened, how could everyone at the scene be unharmed, and you even managed to escape? That guy clearly..." Su Jue pondered, leaning against the tombstone.
Suddenly, he saw Fang Qi's eyes widen.
"It's me." Fang Qi was about to speak up when the person who suddenly appeared behind Su Jue spoke up.
"Su Huai? What are you doing here? What's going on?" Su Jue turned around and saw that the person who came was actually Su Huai.
"To be specific, this kid seems to have been targeted by a god, and he's in a much worse situation than you. That god was actually able to send a bit of His power to Earth. I saw that he was your friend, so I took him out of the morgue." Su Huai squinted and leaned closer, carefully examining Fang Qi.
"Not only that, it can also induce others to recite His true name. I almost died at His hands. That guy from the Thousand Faces Cult even saved me." Su Jue pointed helplessly to the eye in the sky.
"Huh?" Su Huai's smile froze for a moment.
"Is that so? And what are you all trying to do?" Su Huai opened his eyes slightly, staring intently at the eyes in the sky.
"I had Fang Qi of the Thousand Faces Sect killed by my men. I haven't seen what's on this kid yet, so we can't let him get arrested for now." Su Huai pointed at Fang Qi. "This matter has gotten a bit out of hand, with so many scary guys involved."
Especially that guy who's got his eye on him... his development path seems a bit off.
Su Huai sighed inwardly.
"You can even command the Thousand Faces Cult?" Fang Qi asked curiously.
"I have a friend who's an official there," Su Huai smiled. "But he's always trying to pick a fight with me."
"Wow, Uncle, you have so many connections." Fang Qi looked at Su Huai with envy.
"Alright, Shuangyu, you should go back now. If you stay outside any longer, they'll get suspicious." Su Huai looked at Su Jue, who had been silent for a while.
"No, I want to go with him." Su Jue looked up at Su Huai.
"Because of your parents?" Su Huai was taken aback by Su Jue's refusal, but quickly recovered: "The morgue will treat you as a traitor, and it's not necessarily related to your parents."
"It doesn't matter. I didn't intend to join them anyway. I haven't even registered my information completely." Su Jue caught the falling flame and extinguished it, then stood up.
"Then you can stay. With me here, there won't be any problems. But speaking of which, shouldn't Xiao Qinqin have been here just now?" Su Huai looked around, and it seemed there were other accomplices.
"You can't be so willful, Su Jue." A strange voice followed by a yawn came from the side.
"Oh, you're here?" Su Huai turned around. "This is my friend, his name is Jiang Qin."
"Jiang Qin...it really is you?" When Su Jue connected the Thousand Faces Sect with Su Huai, he was the first person she thought of.
"Isn't Jiang Qin... the one who argued with Wang Wei in the villa? I heard it when we ran away." Fang Qi carefully examined Jiang Qin's face.
"It's me, that's right. Your memory is pretty good." Jiang Qin tilted his head and looked at Su Jue. "How was it? Did my technique work?"
"I haven't used it yet," Su Jue replied.
"Are you guys that close? Okay, stop chatting for now, come over and discuss how to help this kid avoid Xiao Peipei and the others!"
Su Huai patted Jiang Qin on the shoulder.
"Pei Min can't beat us anyway, what's there to be afraid of?" Jiang Qin said dismissively.
"There are a lot of people in the morgue, and I'm so frail." Su Huai smiled and pointed to his thin limbs.
As the two were joking around, Su Jue looked at Fang Qi, who was throwing pebbles.
Fang Qi picked up the pebbles next to him one by one and immediately threw them out, hitting the trunk of a tree not far away. What puzzled Su Jue was that every single pebble hit the same spot.
"Your aim is excellent." Su Jue walked over to Fang Qi, squatted down, and picked up two stones, throwing them at the tree one after the other.
One landed to the left of the hole Fang Qi had created, and another landed below the first one.
"Haha, I knew it before I awakened the spell. I'm very accurate at throwing stones." Fang Qi stopped throwing stones and scratched his head.
"What are you planning to do?" Su Jue sat on the ground and then threw stones at the big tree.
"I don't know, in my current state, if the morgue catches me, will I even survive?" Fang Qi shook his head with a bitter smile.
Su Jue shook her head and then fell silent.
Actually, he's not very good at comforting people. That's why he always acted so casually before. He wanted others to think that it was normal for him not to comfort people.
"What do you think my relationship with Him is? Um... I mean, that god." Fang Qi broke the silence. "You said the new world is related to that god. I actually met an old man before who called me master or something. At first, I thought he was playing a prank, but now it seems that might not be the case."
"You want to say..." Su Jue raised her head.
"I feel... if 'New World' is an organization, and not some other special term, then I might have a pretty big connection with them." Fang Qi said, head down. "Should I join them next time they come looking for me? Maybe that will give me some clues."
"What if they want to capture you for experiments or something?" Su Jue didn't directly refuse, but instead reminded Fang Qi of the potential danger.
To be honest, he secretly hoped that Fang Qi would go. He really wanted to know what had happened to his parents. However, his so-called kindness made him feel that it was wrong to put others in danger.
"It's not all for you, I also need to look up some things myself." Fang Qi smiled happily.
He had just been released from a mental hospital not long ago, and as soon as he came out, he was harassed by several people who were on the verge of death.
He had no friends before, whether it was during those years in the hospital or even earlier.
Su Jue was the first friend he made. He didn't know what other people's definition of a friend was, but to him, Su Jue was a friend.
Even now, regardless of whether Su Jue stayed for his sake, he was already satisfied just because Su Jue was willing to sit down and talk to him.
Fang Qi casually tossed out another pebble, which rolled a few times after landing, forming a smiley face shape with the pebbles in front of it.
"I want to start, like a chase or something." Su Jue looked at the message Xu Menghe had just sent on her phone—
"Where are you? How come you two are suddenly wanted by the morgue?"
